Continúa acercándose al final del festival de Valladolid en su 54 edición. En este festival como en otros se ven pelis que yo llamo “pasto de festival”. Esto es películas que digamos que estan bien que se incian en un festival grande como Berlín, Cannes, Venecia... y luego recorren festivales y más festivales pero jamás llegarán a una pantalla comercial. Dentro de la sección oficial del festival va a concurso la última de Steven Soderbergh. La película se llama The girlfriend´s experience.
La verdad que la carrera de un director como Soderbergh es muy desigual. Hace ya 30 años deslumbró en Cannes con Sexo, mentiras y cintas de video. Luego cabalgó en las profundidades de la mediocridad hasta que sacó la cabeza en una peli que adoro “El halcon inglés” y luego le llegó el reconocimiento por “Erin Brockovich” por Traffic y claro por Oceans´elewen. Esta película de Valladolid queda muy muy debajo de aquellas profundidades por las que cabalgaba. Es una mamarrachada con aire de documental narrado de forma A cronológica en digital con lo que o todo rojo o no se ve nada que narra la historia de una puta de lujo que se anuncia por Internet. Tiene un novio “normal” pero el puritanismo americano hace Soderbergh muestre en su película una protistuta que ni se quita el sostén ni la braguita.
