Por un lado, películas raras, independientes, de esas que ponen todos los festivales de cine y que jamás llegarán a una pantalla comercial. Hay, de momento, una película rara pero magnífica, del Sr. Kobayashi, que irá a muchísimos festivales, una pasada, pero genial.
La otra sección que es la de las películas que se ponen en la Piazza Grande. La tal plaza en realidad es una calle ancha, más estrecha que La Castellana de Madrid. Pero Suiza es así: en Locarno tienen el Lago Mayor, que la inmensa mayoría es italiana. Y si no recuerdan la frase de Orson Welles sobre Suiza. La grandeza de la Piazza Grande al aire libre es que reúne todos los días a 7.000 personas. Si se imaginan lo que es una comedia con 7.000 carcajadas, con un grito de terror de una peli de miedo, o verles correr cuando empieza a llover, ya que por término medio, en todos los festivales hay 4 ó 5 noches de tormenta. En esta Plaza, muy incómoda, el público ha premiado películas como Un funeral de muerte o La vida de los otros; es decir, ahí ponen películas que sí se estrenarán.
No es Cannes pero al menos no se podrá quejar Pumares!
